The PE Department would like to say a huge ‘thank you’ to our schools amazing PTA Team ~ FODS. The £13,500.00 grant they have gifted towards a new Long Jump Pit is outstanding! We know a great deal of hard work, time and energy has gone into raising these funds.
A long jump pit has been on our PE wish list for many years, we are very excited to have the opportunity to have one installed.
We have many Athletes in school and frequently win at local and county Athletics competitions. We also have students who are county and/or regional champions in both long jump and triple jump. This will be a fantastic training facility for them as well as providing an excellent new opportunity for all students in their PE lessons.
We have our fingers crossed for the Summer term when we can get students back out on the sports field and get the long jump pit up and running. This facility will be heavily used for many years to come, thank you FODS for making a wish a reality!
